Inside the fridge, there are 17 shelves and compartments. The refrigerator compartment has 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is roughly on what you would expect from an French door refrigerator that costs this much. It comes with a decent size refrigerator with an ice maker in the left door. However, it's not the largest one I've seen.

You can adjust the shelves in both compartments to create custom storage setup for whatever you have to keep. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS also looks attractive. The LED lighting is a nice accent. The in-door storage bins have a third shelf which can be folded down to store tall items. The drawers have temperature controls that let you set them to Meat, Beverage, or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, however I found their plastic textured coatings to be a bit difficult on the fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator has all the features you'd expect from a refrigerator within this price range. This includes Wi-Fi as well as app support and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app, available for iOS and Android devices can let you control your refrigerator from anywhere in the world, and offers a ton of customization options. It also alerts you when a door is left open, when the refrigerator or freezer needs defrosting and when it's time to change the filter.

It is nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS had Precise Fill which is an option that is available in a handful of other GE fridges that allows you to preset how many cups of water you'd like to disperse at once. It does have a countdown feature on the display of the fridge to display how much water have left, but it's not as helpful as Precise Fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The LG LRFLC2706S counter-depth refrigerator is a great option for those who require lots of space within an extremely compact frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge is built with a standard French door design, with two rows of shelving with spill-capture and a set of crisper drawers. The top shelf to the right can be folded to provide more space for taller items. You'll also find a full-width drawer for deli items and an internal water dispenser.

This refrigerator is equipped with an ice maker making it easy to transfer the ice when needed. The freezer has thoughtful design elements, too, like sliding drawers that can help you better organize the placement of items. It comes with a large bin to store frozen food items, and a separate one for ice.

Another awesome feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. It allows you to control the fridge's temperature and lighting from your smartphone. It's an easy way to monitor your refrigerator and control it, particularly when you're not at home.

The Smart InstaView feature is neat, but it doesn't necessarily enhance the performance of the fridge. In fact it took a bit longer to defrost and chill foods in this fridge than other refrigerators we tried. This is probably due to its larger capacity.

The doors are another problem with this refrigerator. They have sunken handles on the front, which allow smaller people to open them from the bottom, but they're not easy for taller people to pull closed without slamming the doors. It would have been better if they had front-mounted handles.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is a great choice for those looking to blend the look and feel of a French-door refrigerator with a more efficient design. Its capacity is above average for counter-depth models and is able to cool evenly. It's also a bit less than the top counter-depth refrigerator with an ice maker, which can make it an attractive option.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

If you're looking for a French door refrigerator that won't cost a fortune this Frigidaire is a good choice. It's a basic refrigerator that might not be as appealing as some of its competitors, but it still has enough features to make a good choice. Its most notable characteristic is the adjustable temperature drawer that helps keep food items such as meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also has a large water dispenser and a decent ice maker that operates quickly.

The "Chill Drawer", which is located above the two crisper bins, is another excellent feature. This drawer lets you divert some of the refrigerator's cooling power directly into this area, meaning you can keep food items that require extra attention. You can alter this feature using the slider located on the on the outside of the drawer. You can also set the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I have found that the general settings are more effective than the specific ones.

In my tests, the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent across all areas of the refrigerator. The temperatures in the top, bottom and middle of the refrigerator did not differ much from 38 degrees. This is a solid performance, but it does not quite make it to the top of our ratings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also pair this fridge with a smart thermometer to get more precise readings of your fridge's internal temperature.

The exterior of the Frigidaire is made of grey-bodied stainless that has a "smudge resistant" finish. It repels fingerprints and streaks better than other stainless steel finishes I've tried.
